MADE-TO-ORDER - please allow 2-3 weeks before shipping

As a small, family-owned business, we take pride in crafting each butcher block by hand.

Depending on the number of orders in the queue, it may take up to 2-3 weeks to make and ship your butcher block.

If you need your order in time for a birthday, anniversary, etc., please don’t hesitate to reach out at john@theboardsmith.com and we'll see what we can do.

Otherwise, we look forward to shipping your board out to you once it is ready!

SHIPPING POLICY

FREE Shipping on orders over $200 in the continental US

When your board has been completed and is ready for shipping, you will receive a tracking number via email.

RETURN POLICY

All of our boards will be warrantied to be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of 60 days from the date of receipt. Anything past 60 days will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

All returns require prior authorization. Call 469-387-8581 for authorization. Authorized goods for return must be received within 14 days of authorization, in the original packaging, and sent insured.

Damages which occur during return shipping will be the responsibility of the customer.

Defective Items

Defects are described as anything that will render the board unusable such as cracks, splits, or warps. Natural coloration of the wood is not a defect. All defective items will be repaired, replaced or refunded. Defective items accepted for return will be shipped back to us at our expense. Return shipping to the customer will also be at our expense. Returned items must be in the original packaging, sent insured.

Repair, replacement or refund will be at our sole discretion.

Non-defective Items

All non-defective items that are accepted for return will be at our discretion. All non-defective items will be charged a 20% restocking fee. Returned items must be in the original packaging, sent insured. Original and return shipping costs of non-defective items will be the responsibility of the customer.

Customer Induced Damage

All items with customer induced damage will not be acceptable for returns.

Special Orders

Due to the customer specific nature of special orders, special order boards are not eligible for returns.

Freight Damages, Loss, or Theft

NEW: As of November 20, 2023, The Boardsmith is paying for Route Shipping Insurance on your behalf on all orders, including international ones. Route is a third-party insurer on packages. In the event your shipment is lost, stolen (eg porch pirates), or damaged in transit, Route will replace your items at no charge to you. You will contact them directly and they will process your re-order. They also offer additional package tracking services via app.

Historically, loss, theft, or damage occurs in less than 1% of shipments. Incidents are normally far higher during the Christmas season than at other times of the year.

International Shipments

Different countries have widely divergent policies regarding taxes, tariffs, VAT, etc. on items shipped from the United States. Customers are responsible for any such fees, if applicable.

This solid end-grain walnut butcher block is gorgeous, even without embellishment. Deep, rich cocoa colors embody the understated beauty we’ve come to know and love with walnut. A demilune of aluminum resin intersects a circle of inlaid aluminum disks, denoting the phases of the moon.

This artisanal cutting board is designed to be fully reversible, with a display/serve side on the top and a work side on the bottom. Finger grooves have been cut in the edges to make for easier pick-up and carrying. Cutting board feet can be installed on the bottom if you request them. There’s still enough surface area to chop on the bottom, even with feet installed. A juice groove can also be cut on the bottom of this artisanal cutting board if desired.

Each piece of aluminum is slightly countersunk, with a veneer of clear resin covering it to lessen the chances of oxidation.

This large cutting board is 18” x 25” X 2”. The layout of the walnut differs from our typical board for increased visual interest.
