When a sawyer cuts down a log, they have the option of either milling it into rectangular lumber or leaving the natural ‘live edge’ on the slabs. We are partnering with several sawmills, some of which are local and focus on salvaging or reclaiming urban felled trees from arborists. The resulting charcuterie cutting boards, or natural wood serving trays, are attractive examples of different wood species. Each one is unique, and finished with mineral oil and then buffed with our Board Butter to protect it and give it a lustrous shine.
