Tips for getting your chopping board customized:

 

  • We can only engrave the face of the board, not on the edges. Choose an area where you are less likely to chop, and consider selecting a larger board for a greater chopping area. Alternatively, you can request that we not install feet so that your board can be flipped for chopping on the other side. 
  • Maple engraves the best, followed by cherry and then walnut.
  • We will need a fair bit of information from you (font, size, location, etc) so please start this conversation by filling in the box below with as much detail as you can. We will reach out once we have received your personalized chopping board order. **NOTE: please leave your cell number and not just your email address if you order engraving to facilitate coordination. 
  • Initials/monogram boards are popular, especially if you are giving the butcher block as a wedding or birthday gift.
  • Designs are kept simple, but for an additional fee we can enlist our graphic designer for your engraved board.

Engraving adds some class

The engraving was very well done and adds some flair to the board. Loved the font. I gave it only four stars because it doesn’t show up very well on my lighter-colored maple board. Not sure if it’s an option but there should be a darker color engraving option for lighter maple boards. Maybe there was and I missed it.

Quality Engraving Lends Touch of Class

I couldn’t be more pleased with my beautiful engraved walnut charcuterie board from Boardsmith. Boardsmith gave a choice of fonts and sizes, and they provided a sample for approval. The finished board is stunning - I use it often and always get compliments. Well worth the investment!

Best Personalized Cutting Board

I had fun personalizing a cutting board for my husband with a cute saying. It was carved onto a perfectly sized board and it’s the one we grab for all of our meat grilling! Now I need to get one for myself!

Disappointed

When spending over $500 on a customized item, you should have to ask for a proof of the engraving. I finally got 2 to pick from and picked the one that worked the best but can’t say we love it. The engraving is quite small and the cutting board is so heavy, only my husband is able to pick it up. I’m currently shopping (not through Boardsmith) for one that is more manageable for me. Would not recommend unless you don’t want it engraved and have the ability to left very heavy items.
