Known for its lasting strength and durability, maple has long been the traditional wood used for cutting boards and butcher's blocks. We use sustainably harvested (certified FSC) premium-grade maple for these beautiful blonde colored end grain cutting boards.

Prior to shipping, each maple end grain butcher block is sanded smooth, given a soak in our pharmacy grade mineral oil tank for 30+ minutes, allowed to dry overnight, and then buffed with Cutting Board Butter.

Built to be beautiful. Built to last.

average weights of each end grain butcher block/cutting board (after oiling) are:

12 X 18,  9-10 lbs
16 X 22, 18-19 lbs
18 X 24, 23-24 lbs

Our standard maple end grain cutting boards are 2" thick. Feet add an additional 3/4" and are highly recommended unless the user is under 5'3" (160cm) in height

Functional Art

Functional Art
This is such an amazing piece of functional art, I can’t believe my kitchen has been without it for so long! I like to cook. I slice and dice and chop, it’s cathartic for me. I knew I wanted an end grain cutting board so I started my research. This board is so well constructed, the silicone feet elevate it to just the right height making it like a piece of furniture for your countertop. The wood grains are beautiful, whether you stand it upright or leave it in a ready position it provides decor for your kitchen. Oil is a boards best friend and this board arrives well oiled and ready to use. Their website has valuable information on proper use and care for your board. I agonized over the size and in the end I sized up. I read many reviews and let me tell you, if you have never prepped on a board with a vast area you are truly missing out! I honestly didn’t think I needed the extra space but whether I am chopping vegetables for soup or salad or simply making a sandwich this board makes me feel like a queen. My advice, buy as big a board as you can, if you don’t have a place to store it, consider leaving it on your counter, it looks beautiful and is always ready for you. I recommend purchasing from Boardsmith, their quality is top notch, and they have support to match.

Stunning!

This board is truly the centerpiece of my kitchen. Its natural beauty and craftsmanship are unmatched. The maple wood is durable and easy to clean. The board is also perfectly sized for my kitchen, providing ample space for chopping, slicing, and serving.

I was definitely nervous about spending so much on a board, but the quality is incredible, and the wood is very easy on my knives! 100 percent recommend!

It exceeded all my expectations

Don't know what else to say, didn't know cutting boards could be this nice. Amazing craftsmanship, a friend likened my feelings towards this board to Morty (of Rick & Morty) discovering true level 😅 I'm genuinely nervous about cooking at friends' cause I won't have my trusty, impeccable, board..
