Known for its lasting strength and durability, maple has long been the traditional wood used for cutting boards and butcher's blocks. We use sustainably harvested (certified FSC) premium-grade maple for these beautiful blonde colored end grain cutting boards.

Prior to shipping, each maple end grain butcher block is sanded smooth, given a soak in our pharmacy grade mineral oil tank for 30+ minutes, allowed to dry overnight, and then buffed with Cutting Board Butter.

Average weights of each end grain butcher block/cutting board (after oiling) are:

12 X 18, 9-10 lbs
16 X 22, 18-19 lbs
18 X 24, 23-24 lbs

Our standard maple end grain cutting boards are 2" thick. Cutting board feet add an additional 3/4" and are highly recommended unless the user is under 5'3" (160cm) in height.

Still havent received it

Ordered the board and it was shipped on 6 Aug. St6ill haven't received it. Spend over $400 and they can't even send it priority mail.

Hi Barry, So sorry you haven't received your order you. You placed the order on August 5 and we shipped it out the very next day, August 6. You are at an international APO address, and the only available method of shipping from the U.S. to an APO address is by USPS Priority Mail. We normally just eat the extra shipping cost of shipping in this way because we like to support our service members abroad, and we did that on your order. So... not only did we ship it priority mail, we paid extra to do so on your behalf.

If the USPS doesn't deliver your board, we will absolutely take care of you. I know how frustrating it is to wait. Believe me, it's frustrating for us, too, especially when we shipped your order significantly faster than is typical for us. We will reach out via email as well.

Game Changer!

I’ve been wanting a pro chopping block for a very long time and was finally able to spend a few bucks on a good one. This board is amazing and has great attention to detail; you can see how much work went into making the board. The balance of hardness and softness makes for very good knife feel, and allows for precise and clean cuts. It's very easy to clean and the oil and butter keep it well conditioned and looking like new. I highly recommend paying a bit extra for the optional feet. They keep the board nice and steady on any surface, while also lifting the bottom of the board up, allowing for proper airflow beneath for drying after cleaning and oiling.

Simply The Best

If you're wanting the best high quality cutting boards you can buy, then just buy from Boardsmith and be done. No, its not cheap, but high quality usually isn't. Yes it takes a little maintenance to keep it oiled properly, but it can easily be the last cutting board you ever buy. As Ben Franklin said "The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten" So buy this board and you won't be bitter!
