Crafted with sustainably harvested Black Walnut. These boards have a deep chocolate color highlighted with black streaks and some lighter-colored sapwood. Some black walnut end grain cutting boards are fairly consistent in color, and others have high contrast between lighter and darker woods.

Of the three hardwoods we use, walnut arguably has the highest 'Wow!' factor. In terms of durability, the walnut end grain butcher block has the perfect balance of scratch resistance and gentleness on knife edges.

While we can't guarantee any particular look, you are welcome to request a preference in the 'comments' section and we will accommodate if we have one available. Some customers prefer it more uniform and others like high contrast.

Our standard black walnut end grain cutting boards are thick. Cutting board feet add an additional and are highly recommended unless the user is under in height.

Beautiful board & perfect Birthday Gift

I got this board for my fiancé, as he’s really gotten into higher quality pieces for our home & kitchen, and had been telling me all about this company from his extensive research. The look on his face as he opened it is one I’ll never forget. Worth every penny, and is SO sturdy and beautiful. Thank you for your fast shipping also, as I was worried it might not come in time, but was pleasantly surprised to have it after only a little after a week!! We may purchase a larger set in the future when we have our own home, but for now, this is perfect for our little apartment!!

There aren't any better boards out there. This wasn't cheap, but you get what you pay for. This is a "buy it for life" board.

Highly functional, low-maintenance piece of art

I've been serious cook for 35 years and have been through a few wood cutting boards. This is my first end grain board. It was well-packed and arrived in perfect condition. I did the recommended treatment with mineral oil and board butter prior to use. It looks beautiful. Cuts close and the board cleans up well using the recommended vinegar/water solution. This method also takes a let less effort than cleaning the side grain boards I've had. No more wrestling with a big board in the sink after every use.
