Comprised of hard maple on the interior with a walnut border on the outside, these butcher blocks combine attractiveness with durability.
Be sure to order your maple and walnut cutting board well in advance, as these are labor intensive and made-to-order. Allow for several weeks prior to shipping.
We carefully join solid hardwood using a professional-grade, waterproof adhesive that is FDA-approved for indirect food contact (an extra step many makers skip because it is 3 times the cost of cheaper glues). Thanks to the precision of our joinery and the unusually large solid wood blocks we use; your knife almost exclusively contacts wood when you chop. We did the math, and the total amount of glue your knife could encounter (on both faces of the board) is roughly equivalent to the size of a single grain of table salt.
We finish every board by hand with food-safe oil and Board Butter—because real craftsmanship means choosing quality, proven, and safe materials and doing things the right way, not the fast way.
Built to be beautiful. Built to last.
*Photos are for demonstration only. Yours will look unique due to the variations in natural wood.
All boards are made to order and take 1-2 weeks to fabricate.
*Bonus - add a sidekick to any order with a full-sized end grain block to get 15% off of the sidekick. Discount automatically added at checkout - does not combine with other offers or discounts.
Recently got the walnut and maple board. Didn’t use it right away because I wanted to give it a few treatments with the board oil and butter I bought with the board. It is absolutely beautiful and sits on our center island as a showpiece we use nightly. The craftsmanship and quality are both obvious and striking.

Superb Quality and craftsmanship
We love the new Maple & Walnut 'Border' End Grain Cutting Board. However, we wish it wasn't as thick because it’s quite heavy and will be hard to carry up to the counter to use and then take over to the sink area to wipe off and clean.
