For one reason or another, we have to trim a board down sometimes. That's what happened with this one. It's a beautiful board - just a bit smaller than our normal Carolina Cut size (16 x 22). This 14 x 20 is lovely and will be a proud addition to any kitchen!
All maple has some marking or streaking that is organic to the wood. You can read more about it Wisdom Behind the Wood and FAQ (under Trouble Shooting). It doesn't affect form or function. This one just has some darker spots, but not many mineral streaks.
