Crafted with sustainably harvested Black Walnut. These dark wood cutting boards have a deep chocolate color highlighted with black streaks and some lighter-colored sapwood. Each board we make is completely unique and dependent on the tree that grew the wood. Due to the wide variation in colors within walnut we cannot guarantee any particular look or aesthetic.
Of the three hardwoods we use, walnut arguably has the highest 'Wow!' factor. In terms of durability, the walnut end grain butcher block has the perfect balance of scratch resistance and gentleness on knife edges.

Our standard black walnut end grain cutting boards are thick. Cutting board feet add an additional 3/4" and are highly recommended unless the user is under 5'3" (160cm) in height.

The board is beautiful! Came well oiled, but we gave it more before first use. Love the option to add grooves and finger handles. We didn’t opt for the feet because we wanted to use both sides but after using it, acknowledge it would be nice for drying and storing flat instead of propped up. Looks amazing while in use to cut and serve meat and also as kitchen decor when not in use!

I got the walnut end grain board for a Christmas present. It is absolutely beautiful and very well made. It is very solid and doesn’t slide around. I had the feet and end grooves added and glad I spent the extra money. Huge update from my 1/2 inch bamboo board from IKEA.

The cutting board, cheese board and “extra” gifted care kit were perfect and the boards are both gorgeous and formidable. I was worried that I wanted a wider board but one of your stock sizes actually fits perfectly where it’s supposed to be. The character of the wood is exceptionally pleasing, almost too nice to cut upon. I look forward to its use until I can pass it on to the next generation in my family.

Beautiful walnut cutting board. The legs are a nice feature as water or other liquids that may get on the counter don’t affect the cutting board. Like any nice piece of wood you do have to maintain it and directions come with the board.
