Thousands of small pieces of high quality Maple, Walnut, and Cherry are meticulously combined to craft these one-of-a-kind boards. Each mosaic cutting board will be completely unique; pictures are just a few of the possibilities. These are a labor of love; the value of the hardwood used in a typical 18" X 24" mosaic block approaches $400... before any work is done.
Be sure to order well in advance, as these are labour intensive and made-to-order. Please allow 8+ weeks prior to shipping for your maple, cherry, & walnut cutting board. We cannot guarantee Christmas delivery on any mosaic boards ordered after 10/23.
Note: The first picture in this gallery shows a rectilinear mosaic board (all square and rectangular pieces), while a subsequent picture shows an angular mosaic board (all angular pieces). If you prefer a specific style, just let us know in the 'notes' section at checkout. If no preference is given, we will make a rectilinear board. Any other preferences, feel free to email us at sawdust@theboardsmith.com and we'll be happy to collaborate.

I wanted a statement piece for my kitchen, and this surpassed every expectation. These are artisans - the folks at Boardsmith - and these pieces that they make are works of art. Yes, it’s a bit more pricey than something you’d get at a chain store like Williams Sonoma, but then again, it’s so much more well-crafted, and built to last a lifetime if given proper care.
