Crafted from the same top-grade walnut and maple we use in our butcher blocks, they are perfectly suited for salt, sugar, pepper, herbs, or spices. Every cellar is precision-milled to ensure a seamless lid fit, then hand-sanded for a smooth finish. A durable, permanent topcoat protects the wood, creating a surface that is both resilient and virtually maintenance-free.

The maple cellar is attractive and well built, and the size is perfect for our setup. Used it grilling over Labor Day and really enjoyed having salt easy to grab. The lid seals really well — that’s a plus — though it could be a bit easier to lift and put back on. We’re very happy with it overall and would highly recommend.
I got the walnut version which used beautiful wood with perfect joints. I was a bit concerned that there appeared to be a slight imperfection to the finish on one area. In talking with the folks at Boardsmith they immediately substituted a new box which even to my eagle eye as a former woodworker was totally perfect. This box is a wonderful addition to our kitchen, and we use it virtually every day. It was a pleasure dealing with Boardsmith and their concern to satisfy all customers who may not be as picky as myself.
