Even though we have our system down to a science and have an extremely skilled team, sometimes the board just doesn't fully cooperate. Even though this board is completely structurally sound, we don't like for the glue joints to be as visible. In Maple it is a little less noticeable, and in Walnut it tends to stand out a little more. Either way, our goal is tighter glue joints, so we gave this one a discount since it isn't perfect.
Feet will NOT come standard on this board, but if you order a set we will be happy to install them for you.
You can also order finger grooves, a juice groove and/or engraving at checkout.
Most maple has mineral marks within the wood. It is how the tree goes with its unique idiosyncrasies. Since Maple is a lighter wood, those mineral streaks are very visible. These marks can't totally be avoided. In this case, the board has several small mineral spots.
Maple cutting boards need a lot of oil, so please don't forget to add a care kit! All cutting boards need to be oiled to full saturation, but especially maple!
