Even though we have our system down to a science and have an extremely skilled team, sometimes the board just doesn't fully cooperate. Even though this board is completely structurally sound, we don't like for the glue joints to be as visible. Honestly, it isn't super noticeable, but we are picky. :) So this one gets a bit of a discount.

Most maple has mineral marks within the wood. It is how the tree goes with its unique idiosyncrasies. Since Maple is a lighter wood, those mineral streaks are very visible. These marks can't totally be avoided. In this case, the board is very "clean", meaning few mineral marks are visible.
Maple cutting boards need a lot of oil, so please don't forget to add a care kit! All cutting boards need to be oiled to full saturation, but especially maple!
