Occasionally we have a pretty board that has a few more voids or mineral streaks than we'd like to see on what we consider our premium boards. As we know from Wisdom Behind the Wood, almost all Maple has mineral streaks. It is the nature of Maple. We try to minimize them when we can, but they don't affect quality, form or function. But we give them a little discount because they might not match everyone's personal aesthetic preference.
Even though what you see isn't really mineral marks in this pretty Cherry, we were worried not everyone would appreciate the darker lines in the middle that almost look like the laces on a football. We think it has a unique and appealing look, so the discount isn't big. We know it will go to the right home!
Feet will NOT come standard on this board, but if you order a set we will be happy to install them for you.
