EST. 1864 — YOSEMITE VALLEY
The Story

The People's Parks.

In 1864, in the middle of a civil war, Abraham Lincoln signed an act protecting Yosemite Valley, the first time any nation set aside wild land simply because it was worth keeping. The national parks grew from that signature.

Half Dome is what that idea looks like. Five thousand feet of granite that belongs to no one and everyone. It was here before us. Because someone protected it, it will be here after.

Two hundred and fifty years into the American experiment, this board is our way of saying thank you to the parks, and to the people who fight for them.

The Board

Built like the granite it honors.

Every Boardsmith board starts the same way: premium hardwood, cut into end grain, built to take decades of knife work and ask for more. The Half Dome Board adds one thing we've never done before, Yosemite's most famous face, engraved into the wood itself.

The Engraving

Five thousand feet of granite, in one corner of maple.

Half Dome's north face is engraved into the corner of the board in the style of the old park etchings, detailed enough to read the tree line at its base, restrained enough to leave the cutting surface to your knife.

On the edge grain: the Boardsmith and NPCA marks, side by side. No ink. No print. Just wood, removed with intention.
