Crafted with sustainably harvested Black Walnut. These boards have a deep chocolate color highlighted with black streaks and some lighter-colored sapwood. Some black walnut end grain cutting boards are fairly consistent in color, and others have high contrast between lighter and darker woods.

Of the three hardwoods we use, walnut arguably has the highest 'Wow!' factor. In terms of durability, the walnut end grain butcher block has the perfect balance of scratch resistance and gentleness on knife edges.

While we can't guarantee any particular look, you are welcome to request a preference in the 'comments' section and we will accommodate if we have one available. Some customers prefer it more uniform and others like high contrast.

Built to be beautiful. Built to last.

Absolutely The Best Cutting Board You Could Ever Own.

This cutting board is a work of art so it's hard for me to use a knife on it. I'll get over that very soon. I am displaying this beautiful cutting board proudly on my kitchen counter. "Sawdust" was a great ambassador to work with ensuring I got the WOW Factor I was looking for. My wife wondered how I could spend so much money on a “cutting board” until she saw it the first time. Then she realized this was not your standard wooding knife board. Yes, it's expensive but worth every penny.

Practical?

Very excited when i received my Walnut End cutting board, however, I would prefer a thinner board, it would be easier to pickup and wash, as this board is extremely heavy. Additionally, if the board is on the counter, which most of them would be , the height of the counter now is much higher and this makes it difficult to chop and cut . Much darker than I would have wanted.

Beautiful, high quality cutting boards!

We ordered a large walnut and small walnut cutting board. They are gorgeous and make cutting fruits & vegetables such a pleasure. Expensive but super high quality. Totally worth it. Thank y'all so much!

Amazing cutting board

My husband and I recently switched from plastic cutting boards to wooden ones so I wanted to get him a nice one for his birthday. The Boardsmith had amazing reviews in so many places, but I always questioned whether an expensive, heavy wood cutting board was worth the cost. After working with this for a few weeks, I can see that the Boardsmith is worth every penny. The walnut is beautiful and functional. I’m amazed at how different it feels cutting on this, and I know that this will help keep my knives in good shape for much longer.
