Sidekick End Grain Cutting Board

The boardsmith produces very high quality wooden cutting boards. They look beautiful and are a great addition to your kitchen.

Although I received the walnut sidekick cutting board a few weeks ago (sooner than I anticipated), I did not use it until May 11, 2025. I like the size of this small end grain cutting board, and it is a more ECO-friendly cutting board than the “plastic” cutting board I had been using. The walnut coordinates perfectly in my newly renovated kitchen, which is nearly completed. Thank you for wonderful customer service as well.

The sidekick is the perfect size for smaller preps and is absolutely gorgeous in walnut. The color and wood are very beautiful and the size adds to its beauty. Also the staff from this company are excellent to work with.

I chose the sidekick as a compliment to the two larger boards and couldn’t be more pleased, all around, with the finish details including the handle grooves and overall thickness of these boards. the sidekick is a high performance item which will not disappoint, be sure to add feet to keep it in place and storing - it’s not a small cutting board despite the name - it’s ideal for everyday use!!

I’m just floored by the quality of these cutting boards. I got the walnut butcher block size and and companion smaller board. Everything from the exact placement of each wood segment to make a gorgeous pattern, to the subtle 45 degree bevel on the edges, to the quality of the feet on the bottom - these are just top quality and worth every penny. So glad I took the offer for the smaller companion board as well. Highly recommend the butcher block size. While I want one, I admit that larger would be a bit awkward to clean etc. These live out on the counter now. I just want them out all the time because they make me happy right down to the smell. I was negative on the care kit at first, but after learning they use American sourced bee’s wax and actually trying out the board butter, I’ll gladly pay the extra for their stuff. It’s better than the board care stuff I had before. If you care about quality and details and supporting domestic craftsmanship, this is the cutting board for you.
