We then cross-cut strips from that panel, turning them on end in sequence and gluing those together to form the final butcher block. We often have extra strips from any given panel. When we have a butcher block formed from strips from more than a single panel, that’s a “Frankenboard.” Nothing wrong with it, it’s just that the look of the grain pattern from one row to the next doesn’t necessarily flow seamlessly. With most of our left over strips, we either make a walnut board or a maple board. If we mix the species, it is typically with our Edge Grain boards - not our End Grain ones. But our team got creative with a few of these Frankenboards and mixed Walnut and Maple End Grain strips. We love how it turned out!

This one sits at a hefty 2 3/4 inch thickness so it's a hearty board!

Feet will NOT be installed, but if you purchase them, we will install them for you. You can add grooves and/or engraving for a small fee.

Maple cutting boards need a lot of oil, so please don't forget to add a care kit!
